Handgun Committee

===========================================

All Interested Hand Gun Members

As a result of our Saturday meeting on Nov 12, 2022 at the PSC clubhouse a consensus of the hand gun enthusiasts present determined that we would start our 2023 Fun Shoot season the first Saturday in May. We will reserve the range from 1:00 – 5:00 pm and fine tune the time after the first month once participant numbers are established. We will start at 1:00 sharp though.

Like our pre-Covid days, the outing will be informal, the goal is to share an afternoon of fun, target shooting, sharing of information, tips, tricks and whatever the group would like to do. We will shoot both paper and steel. It was suggested the first 3 Saturdays be open to the consensus of the group and the fourth Saturday be a competitive shoot of some kind as we did in the past. Also, we have some very knowledgeable members on hand who will share stance, gun grip, breathing, and other techniques on a one to one basis if you are interested, you only need to ask. We have purchased a Timer Clock to use in some of our activities as well.

Please offer up any suggestions you think may enhance the meet, the outing will only be as good as the input that goes into it. Our pre-Covid Fun Shoot had a great participation and was enjoyed by all present, let’s go even bigger and better next season. Safety will be our first, and main, priority, and we will observe all range rules and have range officers. If there are any health restrictions, mandated mask wearing and so on, those rules will be followed absolutely, and anyone wishing to wear a mask is most welcome to do so at any time.

Charles Dunlap and Dan Cree will co-chair this event, their emails are as follows:

Danny Cree

I want to thank those that gave their afternoon and attended the Saturday hand gun meeting and hashed out a plan for 2023, it was very much appreciated. A very special thanks to Dan Cree and Charlie Dunlap for offering to co-chair this outing and share their expertise, and to Craig Pierre for chasing down and procuring a target for our shoots, as well as other valuable input.  Hope to see a lot of folks there next Spring.
